Rajouri, Feb 5: In a major late evening action taken by authorities in border district Rajouri, surprise inspection of all insecticide, pesticide and fertiliser stores has been initiated followed by the closure of all these stores till further orders.
As per officials, joint teams of department of Agriculture the Department of foods and drugs control organisation, assisted by police and headed by an Executive Magistrate conducted simultaneous surprise inspections in all these outlets located across the district.
The number of these outlets is believed to be around 250.”Sampling of all kinds of insecticides, pesticides and fertilizers has been done and samples are being collected at the site followed by seizure of business establishment till sample reports are received,.” the officials said.
Officials further said that this exercise has been taken up by government authorities as a part of ongoing investigation as well as legal action after 17 mysterious deaths in Badhaal village during last nine weeks.
The action, officials said, is expected to be tomorrow also.
