Rajouri, Jan 10: Border Roads’ Organisation (BRO) Chief Engineer (CE) Project Sampark, Brig Neeraj Madan today inspected important road infrastructure projects in Rajouri and Poonch districts.
He conducted the visit alongwith Commander 31 Border Roads Task Force (BRTF) and Officer Commanding 79 RCC.
The Chief Engineer during the visit reviewed the progress of work on Rajouri-Thanamandi-Surankote road, National Highway 701A till Pir Ki Gali and National Highway 144A Rajouri – Poonch.
During the review, officials said, various issues related to construction of roads, bridges and tunnels were addressed.
During the visit to recently taken over alignment of old Mughal road between Bafliaz to Peer Ki Gali, the Chief Engineer reviewed the present status of road and closely observed snow clearance operations.
Earlier, Mughal Road was under the control of Jammu and Kashmir Government’s Engineering Departments and has been transferred to Border Roads Organisation (BRO) a few weeks ago.
During the visit, officials stated, Chief Engineer directed to plan maintenance of road post opening. “Also, he directed to ensure adequate safety during snow clearance,” they said.
During the visit to widening and tunnel construction work of NH 144A , Chief Engineer emphasiszed on the necessity to ensure road safety during construction, quality and pace of work to ensure timely completion.
Issues related to land acquisition and forest clearance alongwith demolition of structures were also discussed. He directed all stakeholders to ensure close coordination in clearing the bottlenecks and ensure timely execution of all works thereby enhancing connectivity and regional development of Rajouri and Poonch Districts, officials added.
