Patna: P. K. Sinha has been appointed as the Chairman of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Bihar State Council.

A senior industry figure with long experience in promoting entrepreneurship and regional industrial growth, Sinha has worked closely with the Government of Bihar on several initiatives aimed at strengthening the state’s business ecosystem.

In his new role, Sinha will guide the Council’s activities in fostering dialogue between industry and government, supporting policy interventions, and promoting investment in key sectors such as manufacturing, MSMEs, renewable energy, infrastructure, agriculture, education, and skill development.

The Government of Bihar has in recent years intensified its efforts to attract private investment in industrial and information technology projects. Focus areas include the development of industrial parks, logistics hubs, IT and electronics manufacturing zones, and startup incubation centres.

Reforms in land allocation, single-window clearances, and power and connectivity infrastructure have been designed to improve the ease of doing business and create an enabling environment for entrepreneurs.

Sinha said the Council would continue to work with government departments and industry stakeholders to identify opportunities for collaboration and growth.

“Bihar has strong potential for industrial and technological development,” he said. “Our objective is to help channel investments into productive sectors, support local enterprises, and create employment opportunities for the state’s youth.”

The Indian Chamber of Commerce, with offices across India and abroad, engages with governments and industry on issues of policy, trade, and investment, and works to promote sustainable and inclusive growth across regions.
