Jammu, Dec 15: Police Sunday arrested a husband-wife duo along with 28 grams of heroin in Channi Himmat area of Jammu.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Jammu, Joginder Singh, giving details about the arrest, said, “Acting tough against drug trafficking and drug peddlers, Police apprehended two notorious drug peddlers namely Rahul Singh Jamwal, son of late Romesh Singh Jamwal, resident of Rama Channi and his wife Shagun Chandel alias Tannu Jamwal and recovered 28 grams of heroin (Chitta) from their possession during patrolling naka in Channi Himmat area.”
A case FIR No 171/2024 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act, was registered at Police Station Channi Himmat.
“Further investigation is underway to unearth the forward and backward linkages of the arrested individuals,” he said.
The operation was meticulously executed by SHO Channi Himmat Inspector Shariq Bhat under the supervision of SDPO City East Sheezan Bhat (JKPS) and SP South Ajay Sharma.
SSP Jammu reiterated the commitment of the Jammu Police to eliminate the menace of drug abuse from the district. He emphasized the importance of community support in tackling this societal issue.
