Hopeful no ceasefire violation will take place to interfere with election: PK Pole

Bandipora, May 05: The J&K UT’s Chief Election Officer (CEO) PK Pole on Sunday said that he is hopeful no election interference will take place from across the border.

Pole who was attending a program under SVEEP in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, told reporters that they are hopeful this year around the elections in border areas will be conducted peacefuly due to prevailing ceasefire from five years now.

He said in case, “there is any attempt from across the border to interfere with the elections for that the election commission has already a plan B in place and elections will still be conducted.”

Pole added for Gurez, if Razdan Top is closed due to inclement weather, Indian Air Force will be roped in to lift the poling parties, EVM’s and other poling material.

Pole said the voter turnout in Gurez and Bandipora constituencies was good and hoped that Bandipora constituency people will also turn in numbers this time to cast their ballot.
