Srinagar, Apr 13: Gauri Kaul Foundation had its annual CME in Srinagar with the Spring CME theme ‘Atherosclerosis, ACS to Heart Failure’.
The session was attended by more than 100 physicians and cardiologists from the valley.
The organisers in a statement said that the heart failure session stole the show with everything about the management discussed threadbare.
The other sessions were on the importance of lipid-lowering and the issues of managing heart attacks in the periphery and the way to prevent bleeding due to blood thinners while doing angioplasty in high-risk patients.
This variety of patients forms around half of the population needing angioplasty and stenting.

Prof Upendra Kaul the course director of the CME said such meetings are necessary periodically to update the knowledge of the practising cardiologists.
These advances in management evolve rapidly and must reach the patients and the public at large.
The organisers said the event was held at Raddison Collection Hotel and it was supported as an educational initiative by Mankind Pharma.
