Former JKPSC chairman M Shafi Pandit passes away

Srinagar, Sep 19: Former Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) chairman and Additional Secretary of J&K, Muhammad Shafi Pandit, passed away today after a brief spell of illness.

He was admitted to a private hospital in Delhi three weeks ago.

Family sources said that nimaz-e-Janaza of Shafi Pandit will be offered after 4 pm today afternoon.

Central Government Pensioners Welfare Association (Cgpwa) Kashmir of which Shafi Pandit was the president has expressed grief and sorrow over his sad demise.

It has recalled his great initiatives of setting up a wellness centre for senior citizens at Barzulla and ensuring cashless treatments in CGHS empanelled hospitals in Kashmir, especially SKIMS will be remembered ever.

In a statement, Cgpwa(k) has expressed sympathies with the bereaved family and Shafi Pandit’s extended family in various social welfare initiatives.
