Sonu Sood, who has worked with Farah Khan on the hit film Happy New Year, invited the director at his new house in Mumbai recently. In her latest vlog, she documented her visit to the actor’s home with her cook Dilip. The duo revisited their memories of shooting their 2014 comedy-action drama. Sonu also gave her a walk-through of his house, when she also met his children and wife.
After entering his new luxury abode, Farah met Sonu and teased him for not getting his dates. “Sonu is such a good friend. It has been a year since our channel started, we weren’t even able to get his dates.” To which, he responded, “It is so difficult to get Farah’s dates. She is so popular now. I have been chasing her since a long time. Bula le yaar.”
His wife and producer Sonali Sood came downstairs to meet Farah. The director recalled her unfortunate car accident and said, “I came for around 5 minutes last time when you met with an accident in Nagpur. Itni chotti cheezein nahi thi tab ghar mein. Rohit Shetty type stunt karahi thi yeh. It’s a miracle how you got saved, ya.”

In the vlog further, the couple gave her a house tour and met Dilip and praised his popularity. Farah was surprised to see how tall Sonu and Sonali’s sons Ishant and Ayaan are. Appreciating a huge canvas painting of a car on the wall made by Ishant, she said, “Sonu Sood se bhi lamba uska beta. Yeh tune banaayi hai? It’s fantastic ya. Can you make anything else? Daddy ko ullu banaata hai?”
“Vo sabse zyada banaata hu,” he answered.
Farah Khan didn’t shy away from praising the actor’s directorial debut Fateh, which released earlier this year. “You are a superb director. It is the most watched film on OTT? Wow,” she mentioned. Sonu announced a sequel of his film and said, “Agla part two ki taiyaari hai, we will announce soon.”
While giving a house tour, he showed a beautiful thread art by a fan, hanging on a wall in his living area. He also showed a space which had a humungous display of sneakers, which the actor shares with his sons. Farah then met their younger boy Ayaan, who just gave his 10th standard exams, and said, “Yeh kahaan se little yaar, itne lambe lambe bacche hain.”

Farah and Sonu recalled the memories of shooting Happy New Year together, while making avocado toast and chickpea tortilla wraps. “We ate so much food during that shoot. But this man, Punjabi but pure vegetarian, he ate only one thing for 150 days of shoot, salad!” she shared. As the director revealed that she would be flying to Maldives with Dilip, Sonu revisited another moment from the film’s shoot.
He said, “We were shooting in Atlantis hotel, Dubai. We were on the 25th or 30th floor. Farah then said that she wants to go swimming. We went in the balcony and saw that Shah Rukh’s Bengali staff kacchhe pehen ke swimming karahe the (Shah Rukh’s Begali staff). I asked her if you still wanted to go. She said ki main ab zindagi main swimming pool mein jaana band kardungi.”
“Hum logon ne itni PR ki hai na Happy New Year ki, for months. Kisi ne koi picture mein nahi ki hogi itni. It was 40 days, then clam tour for three weeks, TV show bhi start kia, a dance competition, and then we went to Dubai for the premiere. We all were sitting in the first row and as soon as the film started, and in five minutes, all of us went to sleep. We were so exhausted,” Farah added.
Known for his humanitarian efforts, especially during Covid-19 pandemic, Sonu Sood shared that he has the address and phone number of every person he helped during that time. He sent a total of 7,23,000 migrants back to their village. Towards the end of the vlog, Farah Khan shared an anecdote from Sonu’s 2017 film Kung Fu Yoga with Jackie Chan. “When Jackie came to India, I won’t take any names, but Sonu ne uss choreographer ko hataakar mujhe Jo ghusaaya tha usme. Then, we did a lot of bargaining after going to China,” she laughed it off.
