On October 15, EPL Limited has received a communication from the Assistant State Tax Officer, Commercial Tax Office, Panaji Ward, Government of Goa, regarding payment of outstanding dues of Rs. 66,90,038/-, allegedly towards the Value Added Tax (VAT) pertaining to the year 2014-15 along with interest and penalty, in terms of the provisions of Goa Value Added Tax Act, 2005, according to the exchange filing.
The tube-packaging company has contended that there are no outstanding dues payable by Company as alleged by the Authority.
Further, relying on the fact that the company has not received any demand notice from the Authority in this regard in past, as alleged in the said notice.
The company is in the process of providing a necessary clarification in this regard, along with necessary supporting, to the said authority. “There is no material impact on financials, operations or other activities of the Company,” said EPL Limited in the stock filing.
