Srinagar, May 27: Residents of Lane 3 of Ibrahim Colony said that the Water Works Division Srinagar, responsible for potable water supply in the capital city has failed to address the issues.
They said the problem is severe in Sub Lane from HNo:49 to 59, with House Nos 54, 55 and 57 being the hard hit by scarcity. According to a delegation from the colony, there is an uneven distribution of the water supply system in the colony. “Those who wield some influence have succeeded in getting the supply restored in a few days, however, the voices of lesser mortals living in the right sub lane of lane 3 beyond House No 49 to 59 have remained unattended till date,” said a local.
Similarly House Nos 11 to 18 need some clearing of blockage in the pipes could bring in substantial improvement in water scarcity hit lane.
The residents have appealed the Chief Engineer, PHE Kashmir to order an inquiry into the perennial water crisis in parts of the lane and take remedial measures to augment the supply.
