Srinagar, May 28: Dr. Mir Mushtaq, the Nodal Officer for the National Tobacco Control Program (NTCP) at the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) and its spokesperson, has been honored with the prestigious WHO Award for his exceptional contributions to tobacco control in the Kashmir Division.
This landmark recognition makes Dr. Mushtaq the first doctor from the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir to receive such a distinguished accolade.
The award, presented in New Delhi on the eve of World No Tobacco Day, highlights Dr. Mushtaq’s relentless dedication and impactful efforts in the fight against tobacco use, underscoring his commitment to public health and community well-being.
Key health officials, including the Secretary of Health and Medical Education, Dr. Syed Abid Rashid Shah, Mission Director of the National Health Mission (NHM), Mr. Nazim Zai Khan, and Director of Health Services Kashmir, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, have extended their heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Mushtaq.
