Jammu, Apr 26: Hours after issuance and immediate withdrawal of the circular related to “readiness measures in view of cross border tension in J&K UT”, Medical Superintendent, Government Medical College Hospital (GMCH), Jammu Dr Narinder Bhutyal has been “attached in the Directorate of Health Services (DHS), Jammu.”
The order issued by J&K Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Department Secretary Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, however, without alluding to the circular issued on April 25 evening vis-à-vis “cross border tension”, effected transfers and postings of three doctors, including Dr Bhutyal, relating them (transfers) to “interest of administration and patient care.”
The circular, which directed to ensure complete preparedness to meet any exigencies, was “withdrawn ab-initio with immediate effect” within minutes of its issuance on Friday evening. Its withdrawal was followed by the “transfers and postings” order, also issued on April 25, 2025.
“In the interest of administration and patient care, it is hereby ordered that Dr Narinder Bhutyal, In-charge Medical Superintendent (MS), Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu is repatriated forthwith and attached in the Directorate of Health Services (DHS), Jammu for further duties,” read an order issued by J&K H&ME Secretary.
As per order, Dr Varinder Trisal, In-Charge Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Ramban has been deputed to Government Medical College, Jammu on standard terms and conditions of deputation. He will also look after the charge of Medical Superintendent Government Medical College (GMC), Hospital Jammu.
Besides Dr Sudershan Singh Katoch, Medical Officer, presently on deputation to J&KMSCL has been repatriated forthwith and has been posted in District Hospital Ramban. He will also temporarily look after the charge of Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Ramban.
“The officials shall be deemed to have been relieved forthwith,” Secretary J&K HME ordered.
