Jammu, Dec 16: JKPCC chief Tariq Hameed Karra Monday announced the holding of a peaceful protest march on December 18 to Raj Bhawan “as part of the nationwide protest on the issue of Adani episode and an alarming Manipur situation besides to highlight the issue of restoration of statehood.”
While addressing the senior leaders of party here, Karra alleged, “Recent indictment of Gautam Adani and his associates by the US Department of Justice has exposed a web of alleged corruption, fraud, and deceit. These allegations reveal a disturbing pattern of bribery, money laundering and market manipulation that tarnish the reputation of Indian business and finance.”
“This incident raises serious concerns regarding corporate governance and regulatory oversight in India. The erosion of trust among domestic and international investors is alarming. The potential flight of capital threatens to stifle economic growth, job creation, and overall development,” Karra alleged.
“Moreover, the government’s deliberate stalling of Parliamentary discussions and silence on this matter reflects a concerning evasion of responsibility and accountability,” JKPCC President claimed.
He further said, “Manipur continues to reel under an unprecedented crisis marked by continuous violence, including shootouts, curfews, and widespread lawlessness. Numerous lives have been lost, and citizens face an uncertain future. Despite the severity of the crisis, the BJP-led government, both at the Centre and the state, has utterly failed to address or mitigate the situation.”
“Shockingly, the Prime Minister has yet to visit Manipur, while the utterly inept Chief Minister still clings to power, further highlighting the indifference towards this dire situation,” Karra alleged.
In response to these pressing issues, besides early restoration of statehood the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee would organise “Raj Bhavan March” on December 18, 2024, involving senior leaders, party functionaries and frontal organizations, he announced.
“The march will start from party headquarter Shaheedi Chowk at 11 am towards Raj Bhawan,” Karra announced.
