Jammu, Jul 11: Senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and former state secretary Pawan Sharma Friday slammed Congress for, what he alleged, “impeding nation’s development for decades.”
However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership brought about a significant change in the nation’s development trajectory since 2014, he said, while deliberating on “the Congress party’s legacy and the transformative impact of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership since 2014, during an address to party workers at a meeting.
The BJP leader alleged that the Congress party’s governance since independence in 1947 has been marked by unfulfilled promises, misgovernance, and a pervasive culture of corruption. He stated that this hindered India’s development and deprived the nation of its rightful growth.
Pawan Sharma alleged that the Congress party’s failure to meet national expectations and impede development for decades was a consequence of a deeply entrenched culture of corruption. He asserted that the party’s leadership failed to address key issues, leading to widespread disillusionment.
He emphasised that PM Modi’s vision, leadership, and governance transformed India, making it a beacon of hope and progress.
Pawan Sharma pointed out several key initiatives undertaken by the government under PM Modi’s leadership, related to economic reforms; infrastructure development; social welfare schemes with an emphasis on good governance, transparency, and accountability, ensuring that the benefits of development could reach the grassroots level.
