Jammu, Nov 11: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had to “take the road to the winter capital” to assume office in the Civil Secretariat on Monday as “nothing flew in to or out from Jammu on Sunday.”
This piece of information was shared by the Chief Minister himself on the micro-blogging site ‘X’ while referring to the cancellation of his flight to Jammu due to haze and poor visibility.
“Poor visibility in Jammu meant a sudden, last-minute, road trip. Nothing flew in to or out from Jammu yesterday (Sunday) so I had to saddle up and take the road to the winter capital,” CM posted on ‘X’, along with videos of his cavalcade on the move from Srinagar to Jammu.
His flight was among eleven flights cancelled due to poor visibility on Sunday.
Giving a glimpse of hazy weather, the Chief Minister wrote, “Looking at the visibility from the balcony of the official residence I don’t think flights will be operating any time soon today either. You can barely see the sun in the haze.”
However, the capricious weather took a turn and the flights operated as per schedule on Monday.
