By helping soldiers without any greed, people proved Kashmiri’s natural desire to help: DGP

Srinagar, Sept 21: Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) R R Swain, accompanied by top police officials visited Brell Watarhail village to acknowledge the locals’ prompt assistance to injured BSF personnel after their bus met a major accident.

DGP announced five Special Police Officer (SPO) positions for the village youth in recognition of their humanitarian efforts.

The DGP praised the villagers’ selfless actions, stating, “Their willingness to help without greed or expectation is truly commendable and reflects their inherent humanity,” he said according to KNS correspondent.

Regarding security concerns, Swain assured detailed arrangements for the upcoming elections on September 25, focusing on polling booths, candidates, observers, and the surrounding areas.

“The district police have worked extensively to ensure a secure environment, enabling citizens to exercise their voting rights freely,” Swain said. DGP was also accompanied by IGP Kashmir V K Bhirdi and SSP Budgam during the visit.

IGP Kashmir assured the villagers of more help through the concerned SSP regarding the facilities in the villages, reported news agency KNS.
