BJP’s claim of forming next govt jumla : Karra

Rajouri, Sept 17: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President, Tariq Hameed Karra, on Tuesday termed BJP’s claim of forming next government in Jammu and Kashmir as a mere “jumla’.

He also accused the BJP of democratic orchestered autocracy. Karra was talking with media persons on the sidelines of his visit in Shahdara Sharif area of Rajouris’ Thanamandi sub division.

He also chaired a joint convention of senior office bearers of both National Conference and Congress.

“ Claim of BJP for forming next government in J&K after polls is another jumla just like most of other jumlas by party,” Karra said in reply to a question. He further accused BJP of democratic orchestered autocracy when asked about claim of BJP of forming government with the help of like minded winner candidates, including independents, from Kashmir valley.

” This is what they do and this is their practice of weakening the democracy and I personally consider it as democratic orchestered autocracy. BJP does not exist in Kashmir and the party has thus put forward some independent proxy candidates,” he added.

On being asked about NC- Congress alliance, PCC President said that alliance is working well on ground and cadre of both the parties are working in close coordination for better coordination. ” I want to clarify that NC- Congress alliance is not just an alliance with seat sharing but it is an alliance for larger cause and has been formed on the instance of people,” said Karra who further said that “people insisted us to form this alliance for stopping divisive politics and policies of BJP.”

JKPCC Chief said that elections in Jammu and Kashmir are not normal but important for identity of people and to get back all rights snatched from people. Regarding criticism of NC’s poll alliance by BJP, Karra said, ” NC mandate was good for BJP till NC was with them in coalition and now same NC is not good as it is with Congress.”

Regarding Er Rasheed issue, Karra said that arrest and now his bail is a constitutional matter but said that his presence in democracy is his right but he is being given unnecessary hype.
