Following the Regional Transport Officer Bhopal’s directives, the Transport Department launched a fresh drive to collect pending taxes from buses and other vehicles while enforcing the Motor Vehicle Act regulations.
RTO Bhopal officials said that on Saturday, the enforcement team conducted operations on Narmadapuram Road in Bhopal, where they impounded two dumper vehicles (MP04HE 1958 and MP04HE8074) for operating without permits, fitness certificates, and unpaid taxes. Additionally, they seized a passenger bus (MP04PA 2560) for lacking a fitness certification and having outstanding taxes. All vehicles were subsequently stationed at the RTO office.
Furthermore, two previously confiscated buses, MP04PA 1921 and MP04PA 2091, remain in custody due to unpaid motor taxes. The total revenue expected to be collected from these vehicles amounts to approximately 20 lakh rupees.
