Another villager falls ill, turns critical

Rajouri, Jan 21: Another resident of Badhaal village Tuesday fell ill and was hospitalised where his condition deteriorated, forcing authorities to refer him to a higher medical facility.

He was referred to PGI Chandigarh as the authorities were trying to arrange an air transportation for the patient.

Development took place after the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah concluded his visit to Badhaal village.

Patient has been identified as Aijaz Ahmed, 24, resident of Badhaal. He is the nephew of Muhammad Aslam, who lost eight members of his family in the tragedy that struck the village.

As per reports, Aijaz Ahmed (24) had been accompanying deceased children of Aslam in SMGS Hospital Jammu for the last few days and returned from there on Monday evening.

“Aijaz complained of uneasiness late Tuesday afternoon after CM’s departure and he was screened by doctors there and was later referred to GMC Associated Hospital Rajouri with problems of urine retention and loss of senses,” officials said.

They stated that after medical aid, doctors of GMC Rajouri put the patient on ventilator support and late Tuesday evening, he was referred to Jammu.

Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Budhal, Javed Iqbal Choudhary said that the patient was referred to Jammu at around 10 pm and would be further referred to PGI Chandigarh.

MLA further said that attempts were being made to arrange an air transportation facility from Jammu to PGI for the patient.
