The 25th anniversary edition of the Lakmé Fashion Week 2025 kicked off with a spectacular grand opening show by Anamika Khanna for her prêt label AK|OK Anamika Khanna.
Opening the show was Lakmé Brand Ambassador Ananya Panday, who walked the runway in a stunning ensemble from the ‘Silver Collar’ collection, redefining power dressing for the modern woman.

Ananya Panday’s ramp walk & pre-show ritual
In a chat with Filmfare, Panday revealed an interesting pre-show ritual she follows before stepping onto the ramp.
“I always listen to Fashion Ka Jalwa before walking the ramp. Today I was watching the match, so I almost didn’t listen to it. But then I listened to the song, because I feel if I don’t listen to it, something bad may happen (laughs),” Ananya shared.
Despite slightly tripping on her pants during the walk, Ananya handled it with poise and elegance and kept her momentum going.
Anamika Khanna’s ‘Silver Collar’
The ‘Silver Collar’ collection was the highlight of the opening show. This collection celebrated strength, sophistication, and effortless charm.
Speaking to ANI, Ananya Panday expressed her excitement about her first collaboration with Anamika Khanna:
“It is my first time collaborating with Anamika Khanna, and she is one of my favourite designers whom I have looked up to. This year is very special as it marks 25 years of Lakmé Fashion Week. Lakmé understands the pulse of Indian women and audiences so well, always blending science and beauty seamlessly.”

The runway presentation was a breathtaking fusion of modern femininity and power dressing. The bold silhouettes and statement pieces were aimed at empowering the unstoppable working woman.
