Director Rajkumar Periasamy, who is reeling from the success of his blockbuster film Amaran, has teamed up with producer Bhushan Kumar of T-Series for a new project.

T-Series shared a picture of the two on their social media handles to announce the news. Resharing the same, Rajkumar wrote, “A story that I have always wanted to tell and a collaboration that makes it even more special! I’ll need all your prayers and blessings!”

Other details regarding the project are yet to be announced. Meanwhile, Rajkumar is currently helming Tamil superstar Dhanush’s upcoming film, tentatively called D55. The film is produced by Sushmita Anbuchezian under Gopuram Films banner

Rajkumar, an erstwhile assistant of AR Murugadoss, made his debut with 2017’s Rangoon. His sophomore, Amaran, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi in the lead, told the life story of the late Indian hero Major Mukund Varadarajan, the decorated soldier who led the Indian Army’s 44 Rashtriya Rifles Cheetah Company. Major Mukund was killed in action while fighting militants in Shopian, Kashmir, in April 2014. He was posthumously bestowed with the Ashok Chakra, the nation’s highest peacetime gallantry award.

Produced by Raaj Kamal Films International in partnership with Sony Pictures Films India, Amaran was released in theatres on October 31, to a whopping ₹42.3 crore worldwide gross at the box office on the opening day.
