Rajouri, Feb 3: A team of doctors from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) returned to New Delhi today after a three-day visit to Rajouri, where they examined patients from Badhaal village and collected various samples as part of their investigation into the mysterious deaths in the area.
During their stay, the AIIMS team conducted thorough medical examinations of patients from Badhaal, who have been suffering from unknown illnesses due to involvement of neurotoxins with 17 deaths have taken place under mysterious conditions since last eight weeks.
The team also collected fresh water, soil, and other environmental samples from the village to aid in their investigation.
Meanwhile, Badhaal village continues to remain in a containment zone, with 79 families still in separation facilities as a precautionary measure.
The district administration has made arrangements for the families to stay in three separation facilities established at district headquarter Rajouri.
In addition, a total of eight teams comprising of government officials has been working tirelessly to take care of over 700 livestock in the village.
Seventy nine families of the village and around 370 members of these families are in separation facilities since last 10 days. These teams are providing food, water, and medical care to the animals, ensuring their well-being during this difficult time.
” We are taking care of livestock of families that are in separation facilities and water, fodder is being provided to the livestock.” said Additional Deputy Commissioner Kotranka, Dil Mir.
