New Delhi, August 29: The National Informatics Centre Services Incorporated (NICSI), a government enterprise under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), celebrated its 30th foundation day on Friday at a ceremony in New Delhi.
Established in 1995, NICSI has grown into a trusted partner for central ministries, state governments, and public sector organisations, delivering more than 28,000 ICT projects over the past three decades.
Minister Calls for Inclusive Technology Growth
Addressing the gathering, Minister of State for Electronics & IT and Commerce & Industry Jitin Prasada emphasised the importance of ensuring that emerging technologies benefit citizens at the grassroots level.
“Technology is changing very fast, and our focus should not be that only a few are benefitted but that a bottom-up approach is adopted where people at the ground level also gain,” he said. Highlighting the shift towards artificial intelligence, blockchain, and the Internet of Things, he called on NICSI to “continue to reinvent itself—focusing on innovation, capacity building, and sustainable solutions.”
Prasada cited AI-MEDHA, an AI-as-a-Service platform developed by NICSI, as an example of the organisation’s growing capacity for innovation.

On the occasion, NICSI honoured 10 central ministries and 15 state governments for their long-term association.
- The ministries recognised included the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Department of Justice, Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Finance, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Ministry of Rural Development, and Ministry of Panchayati Raj.

Looking ahead, NICSI is expanding its portfolio to include cybersecurity platforms, Data Protection and Digital Privacy (DPDP) compliance services, and enhanced capacity-building programmes. Its secure cloud services are also being positioned as a key offering to support government organisations.
