Aditya Birla Capital Limited (ABCL) has appointed Samir Hossain as the General Counsel and designated him as part of its senior management with effect from May 13, 2025, the company informed in a regulatory filing to stock exchanges.
The appointment was approved during the company’s board meeting held earlier today, where several other key decisions were made, including the approval of audited financial results for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2025.
Hossain is a accomplished legal professional with 19 years of extensive experience in corporate law, lending, investments, insurance, commercial litigation, and regulatory matters. He joined Aditya Birla Capital in 2011 and currently serves as Executive Vice President and Head – Legal, providing strategic legal leadership across corporate functions and key business verticals.
He brings significant legal expertise to ABCL’s leadership team at a time when the company is actively expanding its financial services footprint and undergoing structural realignments. His appointment is expected to enhance the governance and compliance framework of the diversified financial services firm.
The board meeting also cleared the company’s plans to raise its overall borrowing limit from ₹1.35 lakh crore to ₹1.65 lakh crore through the issuance of various types of non-convertible debentures (NCDs), subject to shareholder approval.
Aditya Birla Capital, the financial services arm of the Aditya Birla Group, spans a range of businesses including lending, insurance, asset management, and wealth management. The company recently completed the amalgamation of Aditya Birla Finance Ltd. with itself and posted a standalone net profit of ₹2,957 crore for FY25.
