The Adani Group has termed the allegations made by the US Department of Justice and the US Securities and Exchange Commission against directors of Adani Green as baseless and denied, according to the press release submitted in the exchange filing.
The Group reiterated the statement made by the US Department of Justice stating, “the charges in the indictment are allegations and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.”
The Group will be undertaking possible legal recourse. “The Adani Group has always upheld and is steadfastly committed to maintaining the highest standards of governance, transparency, and regulatory compliance across all jurisdictions of its operations,” Adani Group said in the statement.
Further assuring their stakeholders, partners, and employees that they are a law-abiding organisation, fully compliant with all laws.
The statement was in the backdrop of the United States Department of Justice’s criminal indictment and the United States Securities and Exchange Commission civil complaint in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, against Gautam Adani, as well as two other Board members of Adani Green Energy Limited.
