Ace music composer Santhosh Narayanan on Friday (October 3) announced that he has commenced work on building “an ultra-transparent, affordable music streaming platform” that will be “built, operated and served from India.”

The Kalki 2898AD composer announced the news on his X handle. Calling it his dream project, the musician said that the platform will feature both legendary artists and upcoming stars from the world of music, and that artist payouts and affordable subscription fees will be prioritised.

“Will also be conducting a few hackathon events to identify deserving young talent who we dream to see at the top of the administration. Thank you for the love all these years and this will be my little something to add some joy to your lives,” said Santhosh, before asking his social media followers for their suggestions on the name of the platform.

Other details about the platform are yet to be announced.

Notably, last year, Santhosh had launched a new music label, Rakitaa Entertainment, to support emerging musicians. The label kickstarted its journey with two songs from singer Dhee’s debut album — ‘Can’t You Stay a Little Longer’ and ‘I Wear My Roots Like A Medal.’

On the film front, Santhosh, who last worked on Retro and Thalaivan Thalaivii, has Vaa Vaathiyaar coming up.
