Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s sons suspect that the authorities are hiding “something irreversible” about his condition, claiming that the family has had no contact with him for over three weeks.
“Not knowing whether your father is safe, injured or even alive is a form of psychological torture,” Imran Khan’s son Kasim Khan told news agency Reuters.
Describing the situation as a “human rights emergency”, Kasim said the family has been denied court-ordered prison visits, and despite a judicial order for weekly meetings, they have had no direct or verifiable contact with Khan.
“Today, we have no verifiable information at all about his condition,” he said, adding that “our greatest fear is that something irreversible is being hidden from us”.
The family has repeatedly sought access for Khan’s personal physician, but their requests have been denied.
“This isolation is intentional,” Kasim said, referring to the authorities he believes are keeping his father cut off. “They are scared of him. He is Pakistan’s most popular leader, and they know they cannot defeat him democratically.”
Khan has been in jail since August 2023, serving a 14-year sentence on several corruption charges.

Earlier, Kasim called on the international community to demand that the government present proof that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder is alive.
“My father has been under arrest for 845 days. For the past six weeks, he has been kept in solitary confinement in a death cell with zero transparency. His sisters have been denied every visit, even with clear court orders allowing access. There have been no phone calls, no meetings, and no proof of life. Me and my brother have had no contact with our father,” he said in a post on X.

“I call on the international community, global human rights organisations and every democratic voice to intervene urgently. Demand proof of life, enforce court-ordered access, end this inhumane isolation and call for the release of Pakistan’s most popular political leader, who is being held solely for political reasons,” he added.
Imram Khan’s party leaders to stage demonstration outside Islamabad HC
All parliamentarians of Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party would lodge a large-scale protest outside the Islamabad High Court on Tuesday, demanding his release from the Adiala Jail, said a top party leader on Sunday.

Chief Minister of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province Sohail Afridi announced that following the protest, the party leaders will meet their incarcerated leader at the high-security jail in Rawalpindi.
Addressing a press conference, Afridi said Khan has been kept in “complete isolation” since November 4, and no one has been allowed to meet him.
“It is a clear contempt of court. We will lodge a protest demonstration at the IHC,” Afridi said.
