TVK submits representation to T.N. DGP seeking security arrangements for Vijay’s Karur visit

The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) on Wednesday (October 8, 2025) submitted a representation to the Director-General of Police (DGP)/Head of Police Force, seeking permission and security arrangements for party president Vijay to visit Karur to meet the families of the 41 victims who died in the stampede during his rally on September 27.

According to TVK general secretary (policy and propaganda) K.G. Arunraj, the party sent a representation on Tuesday (October 7) evening via email to the DGP, seeking permission and security arrangements for Mr. Vijay’s visit to Karur next week. Since Mr. Vijay is a Y-category security protectee, a copy of the representation was also forwarded to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, he said. On Wednesday, TVK lawyer S. Arivazhagan submitted the representation at the DGP’s office.

Mr. Arunraj said Mr. Vijay had spoken to 33 affected families over video calls in the last two days, extending condolences and assuring he would meet them soon. Mr. Vijay would reach out to the remaining families on Wednesday, he added.
