Baramulla, Oct 2: The residents of Qazi Hamam (Ward one) Baramulla, have expressed strong resentment over the shabby condition of the vital street leading to Ziyarat Dastageer Sahab in the old town.
Locals said that no repair or developmental work has been carried out on this stretch for years now.
Despite repeated requests and written applications to R&B and Municipal Council Baramulla, only estimates have been prepared for the last five years, leaving residents frustrated.
“We have not seen any repair or other important developmental work on this street. We have many times appealed to the concerned authorities only to receive false verbal assurances,” the locals said.
The Mohalla president of Qazi Hamam, Muzamil Mushtaq said a few houses in the locality have suffered damage due to the pathetic condition of this street.
The residents said the stairs were repaired last time in 2004 and no-one visited after that to the area.
“This street leads to Majid shareef, Ziyarat of Dastageer sahab and interconnects other Muhallas as well,” the residents said.
