Srinagar, Aug 26: The Meteorological department in its fresh evening weather update forecast gradual decrease in rains in Jammu division and parts of south Kashmir from Tuesday late night.
In its fresh weather advisory, the officials said the current spell of heavy rain over Jammu division and many parts of south Kashmir most likely to continue till today late evening (8-10 pm), and may see a gradual decrease thereafter at many places till midnight.
The advisory stated that flash floods at few vulnerable places with landslides, mudslides and shooting stones at many vulnerable place may occur, and simultaneously advised general public to stay away from water bodies, nallas, river embankments, loose structures etc.
The advisory further stated that low lying areas in Jammu division may face water logging and flooding in the meanwhile.
From August 27-29 there is a possibility of brief spell of rain & thunder at few places of J&K. While as there is likely moderate to heavy rain/thundershower in Jammu division during August 30 to September 1, the officials stated in updated advisory.
From September 2-5, there is a possibility of brief spell of rain and thundershower at few places in Jammu & Kashmir, they said and added, “All concerned are advised to stay alert and updated”.
