Param Sundari trailer: The trailer for Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming rom-com drama Param Sundari was released on Tuesday. The two-minute-forty-second video offers a glimpse of a sweet, lighthearted North-meets-South love story. Showcasing cultural diversity in a vibrant manner, the film features Sidharth as Punjabi boy Param and Janhvi as South Indian girl Sundari. Directed by Tushar Jalota, Param Sundari promises to bring back the charm of old-school Bollywood romance.
The clip opens with Param and Sundari playfully flirting in a church. She’s a dancer from Kerala, while he hails from Delhi. Their lively bond is sprinkled with filmy references—until she accuses him of toying with everyone’s emotions, forcing him to prove otherwise. Sundari even gives a special shout-out to South Indian stars Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, Allu Arjun, and Yash.
Netizens took to social media to share their excitement for Param Sundari, with many comparing it to Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s recent blockbuster romantic film Saiyaara. “Bollywoods old rom com era is back. Saiyaara and now this. looks promising,” a fan wrote. “Thank god a good romcom! Will watch,” another person commented. “Janhvi’s dialogue at the end was too funny, such a fun romantic movie after a long time. Old Bollywood is back!” a comment read.
In a statement, Janhvi Kapoor said, “Sundari is deeply personal to me. Her grace, quiet strength, and love for her roots resonate with my own South Indian heritage. Shooting in Kerala, surrounded by such beauty, I felt an emotional connection to her world that I hope the audience will feel too.”
Sidharth added, “With Param Sundari, I feel like I’m revisiting the kind of romance I grew up loving, but telling it in a way that feels fresh and relatable. Param has that Delhi boy charm, with a love story that makes you cross worlds. We wanted it to look as beautiful as it feels, and Kerala’s magic really made that happen. I hope the audience feels the same warmth and joy we felt while making it.”
Besides Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, Param Sundari also features Rajeev Khandelwal and Aakash Dahiya in key roles. The makers have already released two songs from the film’s music album – “Pardesiya” and “Bheegi Saree”. Produced by Dinesh Vijan, the movie is set to hit the big screen on August 29.
