Rumours are rife about the upcoming iPhone 17, and it looks like Apple is going all-in on a sleeker design and creator-friendly upgrades. The iPhone 17 is expected to feature a slightly larger 6.3-inch display, up from 6.1 inches, along with slimmer bezels for a more immersive experience.

Among the new models expected in the iPhone 17 series, the base variant appears to be generating the most buzz. As the expected September launch nears, tipsters have begun leaking potential design features and hardware specs online.

Well-known tech leaker Sonny Dickson recently shared images on Bluesky that he claims are dummy units of the iPhone 17. The leaks suggest a fresh colour palette: white, black, pink, green, and light blue.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is likely to unveil the iPhone 17 series during its fall event, which could take place on either Monday, September 8, 2025, or Wednesday, September 10, 2025.

The Apple iPhone 17  is expected to feature a new dynamic island with a front  24MP camera and slimmer bezels on the front. It will have a similar camera island with two sensors and a flash. As mentioned above, it is rumoured that the display will be 6.3 inches, which was previously 6.1 inches. The Apple logo will be positioned slightly lower on the device to facilitate MagSafe charging.

The Apple iPhone 17 is also rumoured to include a stacked two-rear camera setup comprising a 48MP primary lens capable of recording videos in up to 4K, and a 48MP ultra-wide lens.

It is likely that the Apple iPhone 17  will feature a 6.9-inch XDR OLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate. The phone will be powered by the Apple A19 chipset, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage. Indeed, Apple is increasing the RAM in the Pro models by 4GB.  The iPhone 17 series will feature iOS 26, Apple’s latest Operating system that is currently being beta tested and the public Beta version is currently being tested. 

The iOS 26  will integrate changes to the app icons, widgets, and other interfaces that iPhone users interact with daily. Another change is that the newly redesigned tab bar in first-party apps like Music, News and Podcasts floats over user content and dynamically shrinks when doing things like browsing.
