Empowering Rural Development through Self-Help Groups, ETGovernment

The Rajasthan Grameen Aajeevika Vikas Parishad (Rajeevika) has officially approved the “CRP Plus Policy“, marking a significant step towards strengthening and expanding Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) in rural areas of the state.

State Mission Director Neha Giri stated that the objective of the CRP Plus Policy is to reinforce an effective and sustainable process of social restructuring in rural regions. Under this policy, the existing “Village Support Team” system will be replaced with a new arrangement involving Community Resource Persons (CRP Plus). This initiative aims to streamline the empowerment and functioning of SHGs, Village Organisations, and Cluster Level Federations (CLFs).

As per the directives of the State Mission Director, selected Community Resource Persons under this policy will receive enhanced training, guidance, and access to necessary resources. This is intended to enable them to take effective leadership roles in local social development activities. The implementation of this policy is expected to significantly improve both the quality and outreach of empowerment initiatives for SHGs, Village Organizations, and CLFs.

The CRP Plus Policy is anticipated to promote broad-based economic and social empowerment in rural areas, contributing to greater success in community-driven development programmes.

The state government and Rajeevika have reaffirmed their commitment to supporting this initiative and ensuring its effective implementation. This innovative effort by Rajeevika aligns with the state government’s vision of “Empowered Women – Prosperous Rajasthan”, and represents a key step forward in that direction.
