Railways install direct unlocking system at Dinanagar Station

Jammu, Jul 26: Jammu Division of Northern Railway, in a significant achievement in Indian Railways, Saturday announced the installation of the first direct unlocking system at Dinanagar Railway Station.

This system is expected to improve efficiency and safety in railway operations.

Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Jammu Division, Vivek Kumar, while announcing this during an event on Saturday (July 26, 2025), explained the important features of the direct unlocking system.

He informed that this system directly controls the railway signalling and point machinery, thereby reducing the chances of human error.

“The direct unlocking system ensures that the safe passage of trains is ensured, thereby reducing the risk of accidents. An important feature of this system is also that this system streamlines the movement of trains, and improves the efficiency of train operations,” he said.

Further commenting on it, DRM Jammu Division, said, “We are proud to introduce this system at Dina Nagar Railway Station. This is an important step towards modernization of Railways. This system will not only improve safety and efficiency but will also provide better travel experience to passengers.”

He stated that Indian Railways was planning to implement this system at other railway stations as well.

“This is an important step towards making Indian Railways modern, safe and efficient,” said Uchit Singhal, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu Division.
