Ramban, Jul 8: Ahead of the upcoming religious festivities and local yatras, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar chaired a crime and security review meeting at District Police Headquarters Kishtwar on Tuesday.
Police sources said Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar, Naresh Singh, accompanied by ASP Pardeep Singh Gouria, chaired a crime and security review meeting.
The meeting was attended by DySP Headquarters Ishan Gupta, SHO Police Station Kishtwar, Inspector Firdous Ahmed, in-charge Police Posts, Investigating Officers (IOs), and other officers.
SSP Naresh Singh directed the officers to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of religious yatras and upcoming festivals, while upholding the safety and confidence of the people.
He stressed the officers to deploy adequate security on the routes during the upcoming events, crowd management, and coordination with the civil administration.
The SSP directed the officers to intensify actions against drug peddlers and cattle smugglers.
He briefed the officers to stay alert, maintain inter-agency coordination, and conduct area domination, patrolling, and Cordon and Search Operations (CASO) in vulnerable areas of the district.
The SSP stressed the importance of the field presence of officers, enhanced community engagement, and strict adherence to law-and-order protocols to ensure a peaceful atmosphere in the district.
He reiterated that officers must remain extra vigilant, particularly in sensitive areas, and generate real-time, actionable intelligence to thwart any potential threat posed by anti-national or disruptive elements.
