Who is Miss Universe 2024 winner?

In a ceremony held at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, 21-year-old Victoria Kjaer Theilvig of Denmark was crowned the 73rd Miss Universe. She triumphed over 125 contestants from across the globe, marking Denmark’s first-ever victory in the prestigious beauty pageant’s history.

Mexico’s María Fernanda Beltrán emerged as the first runner-up, while Nigeria’s Cnidimma Adetshina finished as the second runner-up. The top five finalists also included Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri and Venezuela’s Ileana Marquez, showcasing the diverse representation of talent and beauty at this year’s event.

India’s Rhea Singha, who impressed during the preliminary rounds and made it to the top 30, fell short of advancing to the top 12. Her journey ended despite a strong showing in earlier stages, leaving fans disappointed as the crown eluded India this year.

The Miss Universe Organisation celebrated Theilvig’s win with an Instagram post that read, “A new era begins! Congratulations to Denmark, our 73rd Miss Universe. May your reign inspire and empower women worldwide.”

The finale saw the top 12 contestants competing in an evening gown round, a showcase of elegance and poise. Seven of these finalists hailed from Latin America, underscoring the region’s strong presence in the competition.

Victoria Theilvig dazzled in a bright pink gown that became the talk of the evening. Her ensemble, designed with intricate sequin embellishments and a strapless silhouette, featured beaded off-the-shoulder straps, a plunging neckline, and a bodycon fit that highlighted her figure. The floor-length gown’s shimmer and bold colour perfectly complemented her radiant stage presence.

Theilvig was crowned by her predecessor, Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua, in an emotional moment that symbolised the passing of the torch.

This year’s competition featured over 120 contestants from around the world, emphasising themes of empowerment, diversity, and global unity.
