Jammu, May 31: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi Saturday asked the troops to stay agile and vigilant in response to evolving security dynamics.
His exhortation came during his security review visit to the Tiger Division and Pargwal sector in Jammu where he assessed operational readiness, post Operation Sindoor.
During his visit, General Dwivedi lauded the Army troopsí performance; the Border Security Forceís close operational coordination with the Army and the valuable support of ex-servicemen during ëOperation Sindoor.í

ìArmy Chief stressed the importance of staying agile and vigilant in response to evolving security dynamics,î it added.
The COAS also praised BSFís close operational integration with the Indian Army and lauded the bravery of Assistant Commandant Neha Bhandari and her team for defending forward posts in the Akhnoor sector.
Notably, in a sturdy response to unprovoked shelling by Pakistan and infiltration attempts, the Border Security Force had targeted over 70 Pakistani posts and 42 Forward Defence Locations (DFLs) along IB during ëOperation Sindoorí in Jammu Frontiers only and had also destroyed three terror launch pads in Sialkot.
ìCOAS also acknowledged the valuable contribution of ex-servicemen in supporting the armed forces during Operation Sindoor,î the ADG-PI post read.
On Friday, the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi had felicitated Assistant Commandant Neha Bhandari of BSF Jammu with the ìCommendation Discî for her exceptional courage and operational proficiency during ìOperation Sindoor.î
She gallantly commanded a forward-deployed BSF company under challenging conditions.
Inspector General (IG) Border Security Force (BSF) Frontier Headquarters, Jammu, Shashank Anand, during the media interaction on ëOperation Sindoorí on May 27, stated that women troops of BSF although had the option to relocate from Border Out Posts to Headquarter.
ìBut they preferred to perform duties at forward posts along with their male colleagues during Operation Sindoor. Assistant Commandant Neha Bhandari even commanded the forward post,î IG Anand had informed.
On May 30, General Dwivedi visited forward areas and posts along the Sunderbani sector in J&K to assess the operational readiness of the units and formations in the region.
During the visit, he was briefed by Formation Commanders on the prevailing security scenario and the operational dynamics along the Line of Control, providing a comprehensive overview of the current strategic environment.
While commending all ranks for their professionalism, dedication, and steadfastness, the Army Chief had also emphasised the need for ìcontinuous vigilance, operational preparedness and institutional resilience.î
On May 29, General Upendra Dwivedi visited the White Knight Corps to assess the operational readiness of the formation where he was briefed by the General Officer Commanding White Knight Corps, on the prevailing security situation and the operational dynamics along the borders.
The same evening, he had attended the high-level security review meeting chaired by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Raj Bhawan in Jammu.
