Srinagar, Apr 16: Following allegations by a family that negligence by doctors at Chest Diseases Hospital resulted in death of a Srinagar man in his 40s, the hospital has ordered a time-bound inquiry into the case.
CD Hospital Medical Superintendent today constituted a three-member committee headed by Head Department of Pulmonology, Dr Naverd Nazir Shah. The committee has been tasked with finding the circumstances surrounding the death of a 44-year old man from Dalgate Srinagar at the hospital. The man, as per the hospital reports, had been brought by the family around 6 am on Wednesday. He passed away after a short stay at the hospital, they said.
The family on the other hand alleged that the patient was not treated well and that the doctor on duty misbehaved and ran away from the ward. The inquiry will conclude on 19 April, CD Hospital said.
