Rajouri, Apr 14: In a s literary and cultural event, Member of Parliament (MP) Mian Altaf Ahmed Larvi today released the book “Ala Sakhawat wa Hubal Wattan: Nambardar Choudhary Mehar Din” at a gathering held at village Dhanore Dhindian in Rajouri.
Authored by Liaquat Chaudhry, the book sheds light on the life and legacy of Nambardar Choudhary Mehar Din, a revered figure born in 1880, celebrated for his generosity and patriotism. The event witnessed the presence of large number of villagers and admirers who gathered to honour the memory of the great community leader. The book details the remarkable contributions of Nambardar Choudhary Mehar Din, particularly during the turbulent times of 1947. Amid widespread displacement and uncertainty, he stood firm and refused to abandon his homeland. He encouraged villagers to remain united and not leave their homes, assuring them of his unwavering support.
“Nambardar Sahib took a bold stand during a time of crisis,” said Mian Altaf while addressing the audience. “His decision to stay and protect his people, to provide shelter and land to the displaced, is a testament to his unshakable courage and compassion.” he said. The book also documents the Nambardar’s efforts to support minorities during the partition, arranging food and shelter for those in dire need. His leadership helped maintain peace and brotherhood during a period marked by fear and chaos, he added. Mian Altaf praised the author, Liaqat Chaudhry, for his literary dedication.
