Former minister of Gujarat Dileep Sanghani, President, NCUI, IFFCO & GUJCOMASOL, said: At the Patanjali Yogpeeth in Haridwar, various naturopathy (natural healing) treatments are available at the Niramayam Naturopathy Wellness Center. These include Ayurvedic treatments, yoga, Panchakarma therapy, and wellness programs. We visited Patanjali Yogpeeth, received the blessings of Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev Ji, and met Acharya Balkrishna Ji to begin a wellness program.
My wife, Geeta Sanghani, and other friends and family members accompanied me. We stayed there for a week, following a disciplined routine that started at 3:30 AM. The intensive yoga practice lasted for about four hours, and with treatments included, our day concluded at 7:30 PM.
Yoga is considered an essential part of “naturopathy.” In fact, the roots of naturopathy lie in Ayurveda, an ancient medical system that dates back over 5,000 years. In today’s fast-paced and stressful life, taking proper care of our health has become even more important.
Taking out time for health has become a challenging task, but there is no doubt that every busy person desires a healthy and happy life. When people experience health issues, they usually turn to allopathy for treatment. However, it is also true that this medical system has many side effects. To avoid these adverse effects, people are now turning towards alternative medical systems.
Among various treatments like Unani and homeopathy, naturopathy (natural medicine) has gained significant importance. This is because it focuses on preventive care and adheres to specific principles. In this system, naturopathic doctors analyze the patient’s age, environment, lifestyle, dietary habits, past medical history, and current health conditions to diagnose the root cause of the problem and develop a treatment plan.
The key principles of “naturopathy” include treating the person as a whole—physically, mentally, and spiritually—without causing any harm, using natural treatments, and ensuring overall health and well-being.
When it comes to diet, naturopathy emphasizes consuming fresh vegetables, fruits, herbs, whole grains, sprouted seeds, nuts, and legumes. The more diverse the food colors, the better the healing process. It is well-established that plant-based foods are more beneficial than processed foods, as they provide essential vitamins and minerals.
In today’s world, the importance of “naturopathy” is undeniable, and its expansion is in the best interest of humanity.
Patanjali Yogpeeth and Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev Ji have made tremendous efforts to revive ancient Indian traditions and promote health. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Swami Ji and bow in reverence. It is a moment of pride for all of us that yoga has now gained global recognition. Today, the entire world celebrates ‘International Yoga Day,’ and people are joining this movement through yoga practice. We must also incorporate yoga into our daily routines to enhance our physical and mental well-being.
