350 people sent back home from quarantine facilities

They were living in these facilities for last 22 days. Seventeen villagers from Badhaal village died under mysterious conditions since December 7. Dozens of people were hospitalised in sick condition and later discharged. Teams of national level institutes as well as medical experts visited the affected village and a massive medical investigation is going on for last two months beside investigation by a Special Investigation Team of J&K Police.

After these deaths, officials informed, a major step was taken by authorities declaring Badhaal village as containment and following which decision of shifting local families out of their habitat was taken. “With suspicion of involvement of some neurotoxin in food chain that could have caused these deaths, we decided to shift local families of village to three separation facilities established at District HQ Rajouri and these people were putting up in facilities from last twenty two days,” said officials.

Meanwhile, after staying in these facilities for 22 days, 350 people from 70 families of Badhaal village were sent back to their homes.
