New Delhi: LG VK Saxena implemented a major bureaucratic reshuffle on October 17, transferring several IAS and DANICS officers.
Some officers were given additional responsibilities, while a few were relieved of their duties after being moved out of Delhi by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.
The reshuffle followed the recommendation of National Capital Civil Service Authority and a recent discussion between LG and CM Atishi.
The reshuffle was announced hours after MHA transferred three IAS officers, including special secretary (vigilance) YVVJ Rajasekhar, out of Delhi. A 2012-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, Rajasekhar courted several controversies and initiated probes against several senior officials during his 2.5-year stint in the vigilance department.
While Rajasekhar was sent to Arunachal Pradesh, MHA moved RN Sharma, who served as commissioner (labour) and also held the charge of education director, to J&K. Following the approval of LG, the services department of Delhi govt appointed 2002-batch IAS officer Nikhil Kumar as divisional commissioner.
Shilpa Shinde was moved from DTC to Delhi Jal Board as chief executive officer. She was replaced by 2008-batch IAS officer Sachin Shinde. Shinde will also hold the additional charge of special commissioner in the transport department, relieving Shehzad Alam, who was transferred to Ladakh last month.
