529 agrochemical samples collected in ongoing investigation

Rajouri, February 07: In a major development in the ongoing investigation into the mysterious disease in Badhaal village, which has claimed 17 lives, dedicated teams under the direction of Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma have collected 529 samples of insecticides, pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers from across Rajouri district.

As part of the investigation, 257 shops were identified for sampling, including 60 selling insecticides, pesticides, and herbicides, and 194 selling fertilizers. Of these, 254 shops underwent rigorous sample collection.

The extensive drive resulted in the collection of 293 samples of insecticides, pesticides, and herbicides, along with 236 samples of fertilizers. These samples are set to undergo testing, and the results may play a crucial role in the investigation.

The exercise was carried out jointly by the Executive Magistrate, Police, Health, and Agriculture Departments under the close supervision of Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa.
