5 IAF personnel injured after terrorists attack convoy in J&K’s Poonch

Srinagar,  May 04: Terrorists ambushed a security forces convoy in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, leaving five Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel injured, reports said.

Quoting sources, NDTV reported that five IAF personnel were injured after terrorists ambushed their convoy in Surankote area of the frontier district. It said the condition of an airman is stated to be critical.

Officials said the attack took place in Shastar area of Mendhar late afternoon.

They said that reinforcements were rushed to the area and counter terror operation is underway.

The ANI news agency, while quoting sources said that the local Rashtriya Rifles unit has started cordon and search operations in the area.

The vehicles have been secured inside the air base in the General area near Shahsitar. Military personnel have suffered injuries, it added.
