4 killed, 16 injured after stolen car crashes into bus in Texas  | World News


Four people died and 16 others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash in San Antonio, Texas, after a stolen speeding car hit a bus on a busy interstate, police said. The incident happened on Thursday on Interstate 35, The Associated Press (AP) reported.

According to police, the crash began when a stolen Chevrolet Camaro hit a trailer attached to a Greyhound bus. The impact caused the bus driver to lose control, sending the vehicle into a guardrail. Moments later, a large lorry struck the bus, which rolled over onto its side. Several passengers were thrown from the vehicle.

San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said two passengers died at the scene and two others died in hospital. “There were children and elderly people among the injured,” he told reporters at the scene, according to AP.

The crash involved multiple vehicles, and several people in the Camaro ran from the scene without helping. At least one of them had a gun, police said. As of Thursday evening, none of the people who fled the car had been identified or found.

Emergency services treated 16 people for injuries. Some of them were taken to local hospitals. Police are continuing to investigate the crash and search for the suspects who fled.
