3 trains in Kashmir short-terminated, short-originated from Oct 23

Jammu, Oct 22: Three trains in Kashmir valley have been short-terminated, short-originated and extended, in wake of destressing of railway tracks between the Pazhgom and Awantipora section from October 23 to October 28, 2025.

“In view of the approaching winter weather, Indian Railways has decided to implement special measures to ensure the safety and smooth flow of railway tracks. In this regard, the Divisional Railway Manager, Jammu has decided to carry out regular monitoring and de-stressing of railway tracks between the Pazhgom and Awantipora section from October 23 to October 28, 2025,” Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (DCM), Jammu Railway Division, Uchit Singhal stated.

“In wake of this destressing of tracks, some trains in the Kashmir valley have been short-terminated, short-originated and extended,” he added.

According to him, train number 64652 (Baramulla – Sangaldan) has been short-terminated to Awantipora Railway Station; train number 74615 (Banihal- Baramulla) has been short-originated from Awantipora Railway Station and train number 74614 (Baramulla- Banihal) has been extended to Sangaldan Railway Station.

Passengers have been asked to check the Indian Railways website, NTES, or dial 139 for accurate train information before commencing their journey.
