Samba, May 27: Police Monday arrested three drug peddlers and recovered approximately 15 gms heroin-like substance from their possession in Bari Brahmana in Samba district.
According to a police spokesperson, continuing its drive against drug smugglers and peddlers, a team of Police Station Bari Brahmana, headed by SHO, during vehicle checking naka established near SIDCO Chowk Bari Brahmana, intercepted a swift car, bearing registration No JK06B-9815, moving from Sarore Adda Bari Brahmana towards Jammu side for its checking.
“During checking, approximately 15 grams of heroin like substance was recovered from the possession of persons sitting in the car. The arrested drug peddlers have been identified as Mohammad Alyas, son of Mohd Yaqoob, resident of Khanyalkote, Thandmandi of district Rajouri; Lovneet Anand, son of Arun Anand, resident of Rajouri and Tariq Hussain, son of Mohd Abdullah Sheikh, resident of Thathri Doda,” spokesperson said.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 66/2024 U/S 8/21/22/25/29 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana. Further investigation of the case was going on, he added.
