Ramban, Dec 12: Ramban Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 20 Kilogram of contraband poppy straw and 60 grams of cannabis from their possessions in Batote on Thursday.
Police said during naka checking on Batote- Doda road they intercepted a person who was moving in suspicious circumstances. During frisking 60 grams of cannabis was recovered. Police said Bablu Kumar, resident of Bagger tehsil Assar, Doda was arrested.
Police said in another incident while performing vehicle checking at Nashri on Jammu Srinagar National Highway a vehicle bearing registration number MH15 EG-9789 was intercepted. During checking 20 kg poppy straw was recovered from the vehicle. Police said the driver of the vehicle identified as Balwinder Masih, resident of Tehra Kalan Ajnala, Amritsar was arrested.
Police have registered two separate cases FIR number 149 and 150 under relevant sections of NDPS Act at Police Station Batote.
