Srinagar, Feb 15: The exams for the 12th class began today in soft zone areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
As many as 93586 students opted to sit for class 12th annual regular examination conducted by JK Board of School Education (BOSE) with 102298 students across Jammu and Kashmir registering for class 12th annual regular examination, 93586 in the soft zone areas and 8712 students in the hard zones of the UT.
A student Mehreen said that she overcame difficulties in the preparation to sit for the exam. “There were difficulties, nevertheless I am well prepared,” she said.
Students were upbeat about the exams and braved winter chill to reach the exam centres, while their parents also said that they had to prepare their children for the exams which have now been held in winters after the government restored the previous November session in schools. A parent said that his child sat preparing in the wee hours to appear in the exam.
Earlier the government said that the annual board examination for class 10th to 12th will be held in mid-February to offer students better preparation time while examinations for other classes were held in November only.
Authorities ensured that arrangements are fully in place for the smooth conduct of the exams appointing magistrates and also constituting flying squads for proper monitoring.
