108-year-old fan expresses her wish to meet megastar Mammootty in person | Malayalam News

One of the most accomplished and celebrated Malayalam actors of all time, Mammootty has been reigning over the industry, alongside fellow superstar Mohanlal, for almost four decades now. Since his breakthrough role in Thrishna (1981) and subsequent win of the Kerala State Film Award for Second Best Actor for his performance in Ahimsa (1981), he has been one of the most bankable actors in the industry, having worked with many celebrated filmmakers over the years. A recipient of the National Film Award for Best Actor three times — the second-most by any Indian actor, a record he shares with Kamal Haasan and Ajay Devgn — Mammootty has been one of the most beloved actors among Malayalees across generations, with a fan base that spans both the youngest and oldest segments of the population.

Emphasising the endearment he holds among the people, a fan has stepped forward expressing her wish to meet the Malayalam megastar. What makes this an intriguing request is that the said fan is currently 108 years old, making her one of the oldest persons alive in the state. Identified as Philomina, the woman shared her lifelong desire to meet Mammootty during her 108th birthday celebrations, when she came across a photo of her grandson with the actor, Mathrubhumi reported.

It’s worth mentioning here that the Malayalam megastar had been away from the limelight for the past few months due to an apparent health scare. However, his dear ones recently revealed that Mammootty has recovered and is gearing up for a massive comeback. The exact nature of the health crisis he had been dealing with, nonetheless, remains unknown. Mammootty’s brother Ebrahimkutty also shared an emotional post affirming that the legendary actor is set for his much-awaited return to the public domain.
